I typically agree with Scott, this time not so much.
Motorcycle are not for everyone but everyone should take a one on one private lesson to decide if riding a motorcycle is for you. Before you spend money on a bike and gear. Get a private lesson and not from a friend or friend’s friend. An actual motorcycle training person. Sure $125. bucks but after the end of the 1 hour lesson you will know 2 things one will you getting a second lesson ?or two you can honestly say this is not for me. That doesn’t mean you can’t buy die-cast motorcycles or just love them.
Remember learn the basics the right way then practice.
Oh one last thing motorcycling is different for everyone and remember bikes are like shoes you gotta find the one that fits you. If someone says that is a girls bike or beginner then maybe you should park your bike somewhere else. Rides should embrace other rides, make the motorcycle community bigger not make new comers feel bad.
This hobby is great but there are risks. Sorry for the too long comment.
