Tuned McLaren takes on Bugatti’s quad-turbo hypercar in a straight-line duel.

The McLaren 720S has earned a reputation for being a ‘giant slayer’ in terms of its straight-line performance, but how does it compare to the Bugatti Chiron?

A new YouTube video published by cvdzjden – Supercar Videos aims to answer that very question, showing a modified 720S take on a black-and-red example of Bugatti’s land missile.

The McLaren seen here is apparently tuned to deliver 861hp (642kW) from its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, or around 104kW more than the ‘standard’ version. Meanwhile, the Chiron’s got twice the displacement and twice the amount of turbos with its 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 engine, which makes a whopping 1103kW and 1600Nm.

In standard trim, the 720S claims to hit 100km/h from a standstill in 2.9 seconds, while the all-wheel driven Chiron takes just 2.5 seconds.
