DIY-Starter Motor Repair. This starter is from a 1983 Ford Ranger 2.2l Diesel. I recommend a hired professional for all your automotive repair. I felt confident in doing this work myself and have several years of private experience. My final cost was around $15 (including the parts I didn’t need.) The gaskets on my starter were rotted and I used black RTV silcone to reseal the starter when I reassembled it. This fix was temporary and lasted for about six months, 3 of which were extreme starting conditions with burned out glow plugs. I hope this helps,Thank you for watching! :-}~
