50 SUVs asked back due to potential rear brake fault.

Holden has issued a recall notice for the 2018 and 2019 model-year Equinox SUV, over concerns trapped hydrogen in the brakes could compromise the vehicle’s stopping ability.

The brand reports the rear brake caliper pistons could contain “trapped hydrogen gas” that could be released into the braking system.

If the condition occurs, Holden says performance of the rear brakes could be reduced, posing a hazard to the driver.

A total of 53 units are affected by this recall – a VIN list is attached here.

Owners of the recalled Equinox models will be contacted directly by Holden, and advised to arrange an appointment with their local dealer to have their vehicle inspected and repaired.
