Bugatti launched the one-off La Voiture Noire that grabbed everyone’s attention at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. But that’s old news now. This year, Bugatti is celebrating its 110th anniversary, and what better way to honor the rich heritage and legacy than by building a three-quarters scale version of the Type 35 and giving the kids a history lesson?

The Baby II is a perfect way to introduce your kids to the automotive world.

Well, they say that love for cars runs in the blood, but if it doesn’t, you can surely inject some of it. What’s better, even adults can drive the Baby II!

Don’t Take The Baby II Lightly

Talking about the little Bugatti itself, it comes paired with an electric motor that produces 1.3 horses in ‘child’ mode, with an electronically governed top speed of 12 miles per hour.

If you feel like taking your kid’s Bugatti out for a drive on a track, pavement, or whatever surface you can think of, you can hit the ’adult’ mode switch that offers five horses with a top speed of 30 mph; again, it’s electronically-limited. However, if you feel the adrenaline rush getting uncontrollable, or feel like taking it to your kid’s tea party to show them a trick or two, Bugatti lets you use a Speed Key that unlocks 13 horses for you to fiddle with, without having a speed-nanny to govern the speed. Crazy, huh?

Hold On, It Gets Even Better

A follow-up to the Bugatti baby that was sold between 1927 and 1936, the Bugatti Baby II is offered with a rear-wheel-drive setup.

How cool is that! Wait, things get even better. This tiny, drool-worthy Type 35 replica comes with a leather seat, the company’s signature aluminum dash and steering wheel, removable lithium-ion battery pack, regenerative braking, and a limited slip differential as well! Although the prototype showcased at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show did not feature headlights, Bugatti says that the production version will boast powerful headlights. Hope it comes with Daytime Running Lights as well.

Some More Exclusivities

Just like the Chiron, the Bugatti logo on the Baby II is made of solid silver. Production is expected to start later this year, and Bugatti has already started taking orders for the same. Although the automaker showcased the French Racing Blue shade, there will be a palette of colors on offer. Did I mention that it comes with eight-spoke aluminum alloy wheels?

As for the pricing, this is the most affordable Bugatti on offer, and shelling out $33,800 will make you a proud owner of the same.

Not to mention, it is a limited-production car – only 500 novelties of the same will be produced. So, get your hands on it before it frees up the space on the assembly lines for other cars to get ready. While each Bugatti Baby II unit will get a limited-edition numbered plaque, cars ordered this year will also receive a badge to celebrate the automaker’s 110th anniversary.

Call me a sadist if you will, but I will probably spend my savings on the Bugatti Baby II and see the kids cry and whine when they see me zip past them on my 13 horsepower beast. They see me rollin’, they hatin’. What are your thoughts on the Bugatti Baby II? Share them with us in the comments section below.
