Bespoke drop-top sports car gets special touches, though it’s exclusive to Germany. Bummer.

The Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS Exclusive Manufaktur Edition (breathes deeply) has been revealed for Germany, offering a new “highly refined” take on the go-fast targa-top.

With the new-generation ‘992’ 911 expected for a Los Angeles motor show debut next month, Porsche is pumping some life into the current version of its iconic sports car – this particular edition blending the performance of the GTS series with more luxurious and understated touches.

Key highlights include Achat Grey metallic exterior paint, White Gold metallic and Brilliant Silver accents – which replace the black elements off GTS models – complemented with brown for the soft top and the interior.

The badging and mirrors have also been finished in Brilliant Silver, while 20-inch RS Spyder alloy wheels fill the arches, finished in satin White Gold metallic. Also standard for the exterior is the SportDesign package.

For the interior, there’s more brown adorning the natural leather trim that spreads across most of the cabin surfaces. There’s also ‘Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur’ embossed on the centre armrest, and ‘911’ embossed into the headrests.

Finishing the limited-edition touches are stainless steel door sills with illuminated ‘911 Targa 4 GTS Exclusive Manufaktur Edition’ lettering.

Power continues to come from a 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat six ‘boxer’ engine making 331kW and 550Nm – the latter available from 2350 to 5000rpm. The 911 Targa 4 GTS Exclusive Manufaktur Edition sprints from 0-100 in 3.7 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 306km/h.

Deliveries for the limited edition will kick off in Germany from November, priced from €187,961.30 ($306,201.01).

While this special model is exclusive to the domestic German market, Australian customers can likely specify a similar vehicle through the company’s personalisation program – dubbed ‘Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur.
