All-new hybrid hypercar will hit over 391km/h, production limited to 106 units.

McLaren Automotive has confirmed its upcoming flagship – dubbed Speedtail – will be revealed on October 26.

The new ‘Hyper-GT’ will be unveiled on the company’s website at 13:00 BST (11:00PM Australian Eastern Standard Time), the Speedtail is claimed to be the fastest McLaren ever, with a top speed of over 243mph (391+km/h).

Power will come from a petrol-electric hybrid system offering a combined power output over 1000PS (735kW), and the cockpit will have a three-seat layout featuring a centrally-mounted driving position – just like the iconic McLaren F1 of the 1990s.

Just 106 examples of the McLaren Speedtail will be produced – the same number of units as the McLaren F1 – and the company says all have already been accounted for despite the £1.75 million ($3.23m) plus taxes price.

Production of the Speedtail will kick off “end of next year”, with each buyer personalising their vehicle to their own taste through the McLaren Special Operations (MSO) program.

The company says the new flagship will offer “exquisite new materials” in the cabin, which are claimed to allow for “boundless tailoring” through the MSO bespoke program.
