Hybrid, all-wheel drive supercar or petrol, all-wheel drive sedans – which is quicker?

The Honda NSX should be faster than a BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, right? After all, it’s a hybrid supercar, and the other two are ‘just’ four-door sedans.

Of course, BMW and Mercedes-Benz have a knack for making their four-door sedans fast enough to scare supercars. With 460kW/760Nm and 450kW/800Nm respectively, the BMW M5 Competition and Mercedes-AMG E63 S are seriously quick.

They’re actually more powerful than the NSX, which only makes 427kW and 626Nm from its combination of petrol V6 and electric motors.

With that said, Honda’s supercar is around 100kg lighter than the German super sedans. Interesting…
