2018 plate clearance sees dual-cab models dip below the $20,000 bracket until December 31.

Great Wall has announced sharp drive-away pricing offers for its Steed ute as part of its 2018 Plate Clearance promotions.

Until December 31, the Steed dual-cab 4×2 petrol is being advertised from $19,990 drive-away (normally $25,990 before on-road costs) – making it the most affordable new dual-cab ute on sale in Australia.

The company adds that the petrol-powered two-wheel drive dual-cab variant is also eligible for the Government’s $20,000 instant tax write-off.

Power comes from a 2.4-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine making 100kW of power and 205Nm of torque, sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.

Specifications include a one-tonne payload, six-airbags, tyre-pressure monitoring, ABS, stainless steel sports bar, side steps, bed liner, electric driver’s seat, rear parking sensors, and climate control air-conditioning.

For those wanting the extra pep of a diesel engine, the Steed can be had in the same specification with a 110kW/310Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel for $22,990 drive-away – previously $27,990 before on-road costs.

Rounding out the MY18 plate offers is the diesel-powered single cab-chassis, starting at $18,990 drive-away including a free Australian-made aluminium tray.
