All-new crossover to be revealed on Thursday.

DS, luxury arm of the PSA Group, has teased its upcoming DS3 Crossback in a short social media video ahead of a full reveal later this week.

The new crossover will give the French brand a competitor to the likes of the Audi Q2, and sit below the larger DS7 Crossover in the brand’s line-up.

Despite sharing its name with the little DS3 hatchback, the DS3 Crossback will actually be based on the PSA Group’s new CMP architecture for compact models, which will also form the basis of the next-generation Peugeot 208 and Opel Corsa.

Additionally, the e-CMP version of this platform allows for electric powertrains, meaning we could see an all-electric version of the new DS3 Crossback at some point too.

Overseas media has claimed in the past that the EV version of the DS3 Crossback will feature a 50kWh battery pack offering up to 450km of range.

Meanwhile, combustion-powered versions of the DS3 Crossback will offer a range of three- and four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. It’s also believed mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants could also be on the cards.
