hahahahahhahahaha “typical chrystler , 23 codes”

My 2012 Durango was doing this all the time. The Total integrated power module went bad. Dodge' s fix was installing an external fuel pump relay. The relay lasted about 2 years and I had to change it again. Hope this helps.

We have Chargers in our fleet. They all got the alternator recall letter. This recall included a warning that the alternator could catch fire. It only took 6 months to get the parts in and fix them!

If you plug that thing in with the engine off, how can it know the fuel filter is partially blocked?

  5. HornetNJ

Wait, Dodge replaced an alternator on a 9 year old vehicle for free? Most companies would tell you it's out of warranty and to buy a new one

I had a 96 Olds Ciera that wild randomly stall. There was no tach so you couldn’t really tell if the engine was running until one day I was on the highway and it quit running. I pulled over and it started back up. No check engine light and the car did it many times over and over. Took it to a mechanic 2, maybe 3 times. Never figured out what was wrong with it.

"Dying at 60 MPH" is one reason I fear drive-by-wire. What if the computer disagrees with my slamming it (FAST!) into neutral?

Or if there's runaway acceleration and I want to kill the ignition or put it in neutral?
This reliance on computers is madness. Just madness. We should show carmakers that we'll buy them the OTHER way.

Scotty, just a quick question, did you check the alternator for AC voltage?
