    Good information, Thanks Scotty.

On vehicles where they're connected to the struts, I find it's worthwhile to go ahead and replace the links on the 2nd (or 3rd at most) strut replacement since you're already 80% there with it jacked up, wheel off, link half off already. It also helps to give them a shot of penetrant spray before even trying to budge the nut. As far as aftermarket links go, I try to avoid those with rubber bushings because the rubber doesn't last as long.

I'd either go OEM again, or get polyurethane bushings if the vehicle suspension/driver doesn't mind a little firmer ride, except I rarely find OEM a good value because those too, may no longer be made in a country that knows how to do good rubber. Odds are after 17 years, the original factory that made them no longer is and if it's the original factory run then you're putting 17 year old "new" bushings on which have already started to dry rot on a shelf somewhere.

I remember I did my brakes once and I didn't tighten all the bolts like I should have. When they started to come off, I got my ratchet and a vice grips, and hammered away at the ratchet handle to make it as tight as possible.

I later learned about tourque wrenches. It worked though, and the ratchet still works.
