Good video I once changed a tire in soft sand the jack was sinking I quickly shoved a small log under the car and 10 min of digging by hand was able to get my jack I had to put a base of branches and sticks under the jack just as I got the tire on the jack started to sink I was finally able to get it out of the sand

Next video: You’re going to the bathroom wrong!

The tire should be torqued later when you get a chance.

I wish scotty didnt have to make half these videos, they are mostly common sense but i forget that half the people in the world lack just that, especially when it comes to cars.

I had a mechanic over-torque my wheels to the point I couldn't loosen the nuts without a breaker bar. My 4 way was useless. If I would have been alone on a side road I would have been stranded and needed to call a wrecker just to put on my spare tire.

  6. Patrick London

I always get the tire out of the trunk before I Jack up the car.

Back in the day (1989): out with my girl in her car, come out from pub…flat tyre. No probs.
Where's ur jack? Dont have one
Wheres ur wheel brace? Don't have one.We flag someone down. Get tyre off.
Why is ur spare FLAT?! She shrugs
Leave it says i…nope says she.
I get a lift to a nearby friends place…SHE DRIVES.
What is that weird flapping sound says i when at friends?
She drives up and the tyre is shredded…nearly pissed myself laughing

    Some things about changing tires(wheels):
use antiseize, for steel wheels they will come off easily, for magnesium wheels you have to or the wheel will weld itself to the hub.
get a torque wrench and torque the nuts to the required torque, generally around 70 ft/lbs, if you really crank the nuts on they will be hard to get off and you might not be able to get them off with the little wrench for changeing a flat.

  9. Ramon Anzures

Your bolts seemed kind loose I'm use to fighting with em

Also, tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern, across from each other until they’re all tightened, forgot to mention it in the video
